We are still here for you

Home-Start Newark is still here for local families.  We know that this is a tough time and that people are facing serious challenges now and in the days ahead.  Trustees, staff and volunteers at Home-Start are working hard to provide families with what they need to get through these uncertain and worrying times.

In line with government guidance to minimise face to face contact, we have made some changes to our usual services.  Our Family Group has sadly had to pause for the time being.  Our home-visiting volunteers are now providing regular telephone support to their linked families.  They are working closely with staff to connect with other local and national services.

How our service looks

We are still taking on new referrals albeit this will be completed via telephone. Our Organiser’s will contact the family and either offer to support the family direct or match the family to a volunteer. They will offer weekly calls to see how the family are doing, refer to local services and offer support during this time. Please contact us to refer a family to our service.

Our volunteers continue to support their families by providing regular telephone support. We have set up Zoom weekly get togethers to stay connected with our family group. We will be organising a zoom tea and chat with our lovely volunteers.

We ask that all families, referrers and other agencies use telephone (01636 705011)or email (info@homestartnewark.co.uk) to contact us, rather than post, as our staff are working from home and will not have regular access to post.

We are active on our Facebook page and you are welcome to find us there.

Let’s look after each other and #StayConnected. We will get through this together.
