Home-Start Newark has been operating at the heart of its community for over 30 years, providing support to families when they need it the most. Currently based in the recently constructed Castle House building in Newark (working from home during the pandemic) we have a small friendly staff team who work alongside our volunteer home visitors, family group workers and Trustees.
We are currently looking for a number of dynamic individuals to join our Trustee board to assist with managing and developing the strategy of our organisation.
The board holds approximately 8 main meetings per year with additional occasional strategy sessions taking place and the opportunity to join sub-committees and lead and participate in other areas of the scheme’s operations.
We are seeking individuals with experience or knowledge of the following areas:
- Publicity and marketing
- Fundraising/grant applications
- IT/Website management
In addition to the above we are also seeking a family representative who has had experience of receiving support from a Home-Start scheme or from a similar organisation to provide a much needed family voice to the board
Although these roles are voluntary reasonable payment for certain costs can be reimbursed and of course the benefits of volunteering are plentiful.
